Coal mining Santander:
One of the concessions has all licenses needed to mining. The others concessions are currently carry out all geological studies for obtaining plans of works and EIS to start operations of mining.
Resources:
222,7 million ton in thermal and metallurgical coal.Potential: 1,5 mill Ton in the beginning of the 3rd year.
Logistic:
Pan American highway is linked to the concessions of Santander reducing logistics cost allowing heavy trucks. Puerto Brisa is the port available for AEM which is located on the Guajira area with vessel capacity up to 160,000 tons.
Coal mining Cordoba:
The concessions in the province of Córdoba have a measured and indicated resource of 37 million tons, in turn has inferred and hypothetical resources of 105.8 million tons other, reaching reserves of 142.8 million tons, this new data becomes from the last exploration.
Due to its characteristics, quality, location and availability of the necessary infrastructure, coal concessions Córdoba allows the realization of a project to build a coal power plant of at least 400 MW will be coal, which will save logistics cost.
The company has undertaken the environmental license application, it shall make available the four concessions for the extraction of coal needed to fuel the power plant located in the very short-term concessions.
It will take the order of 1.5 million tonnes of thermal coal a year to feed a power plant of 600 Mw.
Power plant:
Amercian Energy Mineral Plc (AEM) is developing the Córdoba Coal-Fired Power Plant Project (Córdoba Power Plant) which includes the building of a 400 MW (4X100 MW) coal fired mine-mouth power plant in two phases. Phase one is proposed to be 200 MW (2x 100MW) and phase two is proposed to be 200 MW (2 x 100MW).
The proposed power plant will be located over Córdoba coal deposit in Colombia.The power plant construction license is in progress and is currently held by AEM. The land use agreement is also work in progress.
